London Mistress – Professional Dominatrix

Ten things they didn't tell you about being a London Mistress - Professional Dominatrix.

Full Time Job

It not just about the hour you spend with a client. You have to work out what they want (from the conversation or email), what you will do (out of all the things they have requested or the lack of requests), make sure you have everything you need (in your own play space or a pro dungeon rental). Then set up the room, clean everything, pack it away...and the list goes on.

High Maintenance

You have to look after yourself. Nails manicured. Hair - at least clean. Make up is a must for most of us gals, even it is only red lips and eyeliner. Clothes need to be stern or sexy...not to mention fetish! And the list goes on.

Concentration.

When in session, you have to be 100% aware of what you are doing (and everything else), not just because of health and safety, but because it requires creativity and care. It's not 'domming by numbers'. You can't just learn a set procedure and do that every time. Many forms of BDSM need to be precise. No room for error.

Long Term

What are your plans for the future? It's true that good money can be earned doing this type of work. However, how many pairs of shoes do you need to spend your money on? Think about the long game. Or perhaps you don't see pro domination in your future. All the more reason to save your money work whilst you have it!

It's not for everyone, the life of a London Mistress - professional dominatrix.

Skills

You may think you can go and learn it from another Mistress, by watching folk at clubs, go to a Mistress Workshop or a domme school/mentor. All of these will help, of course, but you will learn all the time and you will never know it all. Anyone who tells you different doesn't know!

Discretion

Keep yourself to yourself, and the details of your clients too. "Loose tongues sink ships"...if you don't know what it means, look it up! Clients love to talk about other Mistresses, don't forget they can add you to this list too. Soon you're the topic of their conversation. Don't bad mouth other Mistresses, aren't we all in this together? Sisterhood.

Content

You're going to need to regularly organise new photos, write a blog and tweet on the Twitter platform. Not important you may think? But think again, clients tend to be very visual and if they're not into what you look like, they will be mad for those thigh boots you're wearing in the lastest shoot.

Never underestimate the power of words...that's where the Blogging and content are very important. It's not all about looks, clients like to get a feel for what make the Mistress tick by reading their words.

Tweeting makes clients feel like you're real and accessible. They see you as just a tap away. They also get an idea of who you are by what you are tweeting.

Vetting

Just because the phone is ringing and someone has booked an appointment doesn't mean to say they are coming. Have a procedure that you use to ensure you're not left hanging around. In my Mistress Workshop I explain how this can be avoided. Along with a code system for cataloging clients.

Learn your craft if you want to become a successful London Mistress - professional dominatrix.

Stealing

Memento collectors. Keep an eye on all your dungeon equipment and never leave your bag open or phone on the side!

Smelly

It doesn't even need to be in the middle of a hot summer, some men do not know how to keep themselves clean, and I'm not talking about their face! Although the head does come into it!!! Never be afraid of showing them into the bathroom, telling them to use the water, soap, flannel and wash the front and rear. If it hasn't been done correctly, put your rubber gloves on, get a handful of wet wipes and rub vigorously.

Care

When somebody hands themselves over to you; mind, body and soul, you have a duty of care to look after them. They are humans. They have mothers, sisters and very often a wife. Subspace isn't just a word, it's a places they can go to (and need to come back from) in extreme pleasure and pain. Consider their needs. Don't burst their bubble. Sometimes a hug might just be what they need after an intense session.
