Miss Kims Grand Tour

Currently underway, as I have had six seperate foreign travels this year on; planes, trains, automobiles and cruise ships are part of Miss Kim's Grand Tour

Lucky enough to have started the new year with another Cunard cruise, this time on the Queen Victoria. Two weeks, in the dullest month of the year February, to the Canary Island. Having had a house in Spain for 22 years, the Spanish way of life wasn't new to me.

Cruising tour of Canary Islands

Tenerife was the first foreign holiday I'd ever had at the age of 14. I loved it then. Didn't like it now! Neither was I that impressed with the other three islands in the group. I prefered Maderia, I thought it was charming. The cruise itself was lovely, but a little to long if I'm honest. I preferred the week on the Queen Mary March 2025.

Grand Tour in Europe

Then I went for my usual trip to Paris in the Spring. It's a chance to catch up with some of my Parisian girlfriends. I adore the city and am starting to understand where everything is. I'm returning in November, but moving forward I will go infrequently. Going to go to Dover Market next time.

Lake Como was a wonderful treat, as my dear friend Phoebe has a second home there. It's the most extraordinary villa in Brunate close by the funicular railway. It was a particularly damp, raining most of early May. We busied ourselves chores around the house and garden, which is huge. Plus some lovely trips around the area. Definitely returning in 2027.

Miss Kim will return to Lake Como

Spain in June for a week. A few days in the city with my favourite ladies; Spanish Majesty and Lady Rebeca (below)for their first Queen Bee Society drinks - Barcelona chapter. Then on to my sisters home north of Barcelona, for the rest of the week.

Hardly a holiday but certainly almost a week away from home at Mistress Tess's Gynarchy Governance event in the Norfolk countryside and then on to a huge Airbnb for her birthday weekend in Royal Ascot.

Road touring in a convertible

Road trip July. If you want to do something in style, do it in a convertible...a BMW to be precise! David and I drove south very early and got on Le Chunnel. The weather was amazing. We intended doing a circuit, with the Latex Baroness Chateau in the middle. The jewel-in-the-crown as it was a latex weekend, with her swimming pool at the centre of this. The fact that there was also a wonderful dinner in the dining room, then a party in the attic dungeon made for a verymemorable trip.

On the way to her chateau in South Beaujolais we stopped for a couple of nights a the most adorable town called Troyes, where 100's of buildings were Tudor in construction. We then headed to Chateaux Demask, as it was on the way, and I wanted to see my dear friend Steve English. We ate, drank and made merry, before disappearing off to one of the 12 rooms in the early hours.

Latex Pool Party was a lot of fun. Wearing rubber in a water is interesting! Unless it is tight at the neck, wrists and ankles...it moves and you slip out EVERYWHERE! The village is very small but we ate out twice at the same great restaurant Auberge De L'Arches.

Grand Tour to the Latex Baroness chateaux

Driving back we had another night at Steve's, then on to the village Chenonceaux staying in a very small boutique hotel. As we needed to get Le Shuttle later that evening, and the long drive ahead, we decided against visiting Chateaux Chenonceaux. David is a great driver and conversationalist. He met two icons of the world rubber scene. Oh, and he is a huge rubberist.

Got two more trips planned for the rest of the year; Paris and Barcelona again. Next year 2027 will restart the Grand Tour. Maybe another cruise. Trip to Barcelona as my sister and I have Japan trip to plan.

In conclusion, there will always be another trip.
